Little Is Big:
Bullying Workshop with PS 75

How can you confront bullying in the classroom amongst early childhood students? This series answers this question and more through arts integrated social emotional learning techniques. Based on a Shadow Box Theater show called Little is Big, see how Kelley's lesson plans catered to this population of kindergarteners and first graders at PS 75 in Manhattan.

Puppetry & Theater
with PS 255

Geography and earth science can be challenging topics for first graders. Why not explore them through the arts? This series takes K-2nd graders on a journey through Africa to discover it's inhabitants. See how Kelley's lesson plans approached PS 255's first grade geography unit through theatre games and puppetry.

Resident Teaching Artist

Kelley is a resident teaching artist with Shadowbox Theatre Company, a non-profit children’s theatre that brings theatre, puppetry, and workshops to children all around NYC. Working with SBT, Kelley creates workshops or series of workshops in puppetry, acting, visual arts, movement, and theatrical story telling. Kelley centers her curriculum on social emotional learning through the arts and she primarily teaches students in Pre-K through 3rd grade. Kelley teaches across all five boroughs in public schools, private schools, and charter schools, during and after school hours.

Camp Director

In 2020, Kelley was the Resident Camp Director of the Seacoast Repertory Theatre’s Youth Program, Portsmouth Academy of Performing Arts (P.A.P.A.). Kelley headed structuring the camps' curriculums and scheduling, running a team of counselors and CIT’s through two, three week summer day camp programs. Kelley not only lead the camps, she also taught the acting curriculum for each camp, working directly with every student. Working closely with P.A.P.A.'s education director, Kelley was the main resource for parents,  guest artists, and her fellow teachers.

Masters Student

Kelley is a current graduate student at the City College of New York, pursuing her Masters in Theatre Education. City College's program is renowned in NYC and spearheaded by Sobha Kavanakudiyil, a leader in NYC's arts educational sphere. The programs aims to inspire a community of future educators who are passionate and prepared and who understand the impact and connection between artistry, pedagogy and advocacy in the arts. Kelley will earn her M.S.Ed in Educational Theatre this Spring of 2025.
